Collegians earn honors in spring semester
Baldwin Wallace University: Molly Cancian of Brunswick, was inducted into Baldwin Wallace University’s Alpha Mu Zeta chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society. To qualify for membership, students are required to complete at least two collegiate courses in English language or literature, beyond the usual requirements in freshman English; have a minimum of a B, or equivalent average, in English and in general scholarship; rank in the top 35% of their class; and complete at least three semesters of college course work. *Local students were inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society in the spring 2022 semester. The following students from our area were among 89 inducted: Maddie Miller of Medina, a graduate of Medina Senior High School majoring in pre-allied health/pre-physical therapy; Austin Olsavsky of Medina, a graduate of Medina Senior High School majoring in national security; Nick Pankow of Medina, a graduate of Medina Senior High School and Andras Fabian of Hinckley, a graduate of Highland High School majoring in cybersecurity analyst. *Students from our area were inducted into Baldwin Wallace University’s Kappa Omega Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, in the spring 2022 semester.
Inductees include Nicole Babik of Medina, a graduate of Highland High School majoring in middle childhood education; Maddie Boltz of Medina, a graduate of Cloverleaf Senior High School majoring in early childhood education; Arianna Dodds of Hinckley, a graduate of Brunswick High School majoring in adolescent and young adult education and English integrated language arts; Alyssa Guzman of Brunswick, a graduate of North Royalton High School majoring in early childhood education; Ryah Moner of Brunswick, a graduate of Brunswick High School majoring in early childhood education and Allison O’Connell of Brunswick, a graduate of Brunswick High School. *Students from our area were among 30 exceptional writers and artists whose work was selected for publication in the 2022 edition of Baldwin Wallace University’s annual literary and art journal, The Mill. Each edition of The Mill showcases and celebrates the creative works of student writers and artists across different disciplines. Youngstown State University: Nina Alachniewicz of Medina was recognized at Youngstown State University’s Annual Student Awards Banquet for completing the YSU Emerging Leaders Program. Trine University: Trevor Ransbury of Medina completed requirements for a degree from Trine University at the end of the Spring 2022 semester.
Grove City College: The following students were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2022 semester at Grove City College. Ruth and Speers were also among 547 who received degrees from Grove City College on May 14. Ohio Dominican University: Ohio Dominican University has named 292 students to its 2022 spring semester Dean’s List.
